Quiz night 23rd November 2012
So..... who did won our first gold medal at this years Olympics?.....
On 23rd November 2012, we gathered for our last social event of the year, a quiz night arranged by Angela Stevenson, and her husband Charles, to answer this question, and many others.
It was a cool November night, and we arrived at Cuddington Village hall, armed with an array of beverages and our grey cells ready for action. The evening was open to everyone, and it was pleasing to welcome folk who were not in our choir.
The village hall was an ideal venue to hold the quiz, plenty of room for the 9 teams to huddle together and attempt to answer the questions..... who was the last Plantagenet king?
The soup and ploughmans at the interval were devoured, whilst everyone had a good chat. It was nice to see all the different voice sections sitting with one another, these events are very good at getting us to mingle!
The quiz also featured spot prize questions... what were the three grapes that make champagne?.. testing our general knowledge, or in some cases, our lack of general knowledge!
As well as arranging the evening, Angela, and her dear husband Charles, were Quizmasters for the evening, and did a fabulous job, keeping the teams in check, and teasing us with some quite difficult questions.
At the end of the evening, prizes for the winning and last team were awarded, and we left, still trying to wonder why we couldnt remember who had won that first medal......... was it Bradley... or Kath... or Victoria....?
Many thanks to Angela and Charles for organising a lovely evening. A lot of work was put in to make the evening a success, so thank you very much to you both.
(And for all those who still don't know......
Richard III; Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier; Heather Glover and Heather Stanning.......... of course......... the answers are in the right order, arent they?)
Here's a few pictures of the evening....
