The history behind our performances

The Verdi was performed in conjunction with Uxbridge Choral Society. The idea of having a joint collaboration came about since our new Conductor, Jeff Stewart, was also Conductor at Uxbridge. The two choirs were of a similar number, and having a conductor prepare both choirs for a larger, ambitious performance, was too big an opportunity to miss. So while Aylesbury Choral Society prepared on a Tuesday evening, Uxbridge were doing the same thing, again with Jeff, on a Wednesday.

Jeff was able to see where our strengths and weaknesses were, and work on those. We also had a joint workshop in March, which was well attended and brought the two choirs together for the first time.

The result of all the hard work and effort, can be seen in the review, the photos and the quotes.

Now of this could be done without the hard work of Jeff and the Committee, so many thanks to them.

Also, thank you very much to Colin Spinks, our Accompanist, who provided us with so much support during rehearsals.
