There is an 'open rehearsal', particularly suitable for all who think that they might be interested in 'testing us out' on the 2nd Tuesday of each term: 10th September, 14th January and 6th May. However, you would be welcome on any Tuesday rehearsal.

What do we sing?

We sing choral music, sacred and secular from across the ages, from Renaissance to the jazz age of the Musicals. In general, the Autumn and Spring terms usually consist of the large-scale choral works (usually sacred), such as Haydn's Creation, Bach's Christmas Oratorio and Verdi's Requiem. In the Summer, we tend to sing smaller and lighter works, including some by more recent and contemporary composers.

Most of our concerts take place at St Mary's Church, in the centre of Aylesbury, except in the summer when we often sing at other churches, schools and community centres around the town and local area. See the FAQs page of this website.

Safeguarding for children, young people and other vulnerable people....

The Society welcomes members from age 16 but may also work with children younger than 16 on occasion (e.g. choral activities involving school choral groups).

We have a Safeguarding Policy for children (under 16) and young people (16-18) as well as other vulnerable people. This policy may be accessed here, including a consent form for parents and carers of children and young people who may be involved in ACS's activities.
